Basic Brake upgrades
Hi,
I`m debating what upgrades I should do for my car. It will be used mainly for street, and maybe, just maybe, for some occasional circuit racing to let me get to know the car better. First: Kerscher brakes: are they just different disc that are vented, but no larger pads/pistons in the caliper? Second: depending on the above answer, that would give me either more brake force, or simply increased cooling and gas dispersion. Third: Converting to Type3 brakes, or changing to a 924 brake cylinder with increased diameter. What would you prefer? I have considered the Porsche approach, but the rules are strict here in Norway, so a TUV certificate is very handy. |
Any thoughts out there?

If I remember correctly, CSP has TUV brake up-grades...

The dilemma Talbot calipers vs Kerscher kit
1) Talbot = greater clamping force, but no better cooling/venting 2) Kerscher = better cooling/venting but does it also have greater clamping force? |
The best thing I ever did on my T1 was rear disc brakes. They are nothing fancy, some small Peugeot-things I bought used from an abandoned project. But the difference is amazing, braking feels like a completely different car!
My front brakes are still stock discs. |
