Brake disc 'runout' specs
Anyone know or can point me towards runout specs for Porsche discs?
|
Hi
What kind of brakes do you have? I will se if I could find sometings about it. |
They are actually 95-98 Porsche 993 rear discs mounted on modified 944 hubs (to fit beetle bearings). Too be honest it could be the runout spec of any large disc. I need to check them when mounted on the modified hubs..

Hello
if I'm not mistaking too bad, I think acceptable runout it's something like 0,10 to 0,15mm, more than that I think it will cause much vibration on the steering wheel on braking, especially on fixed calipers (not sliding) like the rear that you mention Friendly JIMP |
Here I found something for your 993 discbrakes
Brakediscs minimum after machining dimension wear limit front 30,6mm 30,0mm rear 22,6mm 22,0mm Thickness tolerans of brakedisc 0,02mm (new 0,01mm) Lateral runout of brakedisc max 0,05mm Lateral runout of wheelhub max 0,04mm Lateral runout of brakedisc when installed max 0,09mm |
Ah thats wonderful, thanks guys...
