Dan,
The splines on a swing axle are the same as the splines on an IRS. I cannot see why the 944 caliper carriers, 944 T calipers (like in the picture), 944 T rotors and stub axles can't be used....

Hi Sandeep,
Did you check the calipers with the brake pads in place? You might find that the pads overhang the disc now that you've elongated the mounting holes.

Hi Guys,
I'll be returning to the U.K in March after a 4 1/2 year stint working abroad in Dubai. My bug was a slow restoration due to a lack of funds and my love for the German Look, but I plan to...

Hello again Simon,
I'd stick with 7.5j 17's with an offset of 52ET. I tried this route on my oval with standard discs on front and a 2" narrowed beam. At least if you feel the need for spacers up...

Hi,
You will need 17" Cups with the maximum 52ET offset for the front shod with 205/40/17 tyres. It works best with a 2" narrowed beam but is possible with a standard width one by tucking up the...

Tips.
Ensure that the metal to be welded is very clean, free of paint, underseal, rust, oil, etc. If the area to be welded has any surface rust on it, it is easiest to remove it first with a wire wheel on...

Hi,
I have one I would be prepared to sell. It's in fairly good condition, still in one piece, the correct shape, no tears, just a little dirty. It's from a '56. Let me know if you fail to get the...

Cheers for the info Jim.
Sounds like a lot of bother. I think I'll have a Porsche stamp made up and try to stamp the white on top of the base colour in 2k to see if it works. Failing that your...

Hi Jim,
I thought about that, but clearcoat usually tarnishes and turns a yellow colour under severe heat. That even seems to be true with 2k paint as I found out when I painted my engine tinware...

I am planning to strip and rebuild my 944 turbo calipers. I will have them media blasted and powder coated, but I'd like to keep the Porsche enscription. Short of masking off the area...

Hi guys,
You don't want Oxy Acetylene for welding body panels as you will end up with all kinds of distortion and your bodywork will need plenty of filler! I had my first beetle welded up by a guy...
