I'm mostly enjoying the improved drive-ability and smoother idle, haven't properly put my foot down yet as I want to check the fueling correction table and do some logging

All good, boringly reliable but now a bit more...
All good, boringly reliable but now a bit more driveable and faster courtesy of an RCM header and Harvey Smith up-pipe, I also added a splitter in the bellmouth downpipe!

That's going to be loud! Have a think about breaking the return coolant line into sections so you don't have to remove it when you drop the engine...

Sounds fine Graham.. Yours is in the same position as mine if what we discussed has been followed through, ie bellhousing about 70 and 50mm up from VW position. The H6 is -.7" longer than a 4 so...

Why solid mount, isn't this a street car? Even when people solid mount a lot of the time they won't do the front as there is much less flex in the mountings which leads to cracked nosecones...

I thought about having some sort of frame over...
I thought about having some sort of frame over the trans which also tied in to the top damper mounts but space was very tight, turns out my design is very rigid as it is so that's how I would do it...

It wasn't about the speed, it was all to do with the rate of deceleration, might have been worse with mine as it is relatively softly sprung..

I have to say the locking up on over-run is the best bit of the plate LSD on my bug, it's has transformed it from scarey on lift off to a car that stays stable..
