I read that the 996, Boxster etc. flat 6 watercooled engine is 3-4" shorter in length than the aircooled equivalent. Was just wondering if that means now that it might actually fit into a bug? It...

Yes 7.5x17 ET52 and 8x17 ET52 are both genuine...
Yes 7.5x17 ET52 and 8x17 ET52 are both genuine sizes. So is 8x17 ET30 believe it or not (stick out more than the 9x17 ET55s) - I have a pair of those too kind of by accident

To answer my own question I have temporarily fitted up my 8x17 ET52 wheels on the std rear drums on my Super. I have used Empi 25mm hub adapters.
With the car on std height the wheels...

Bump stop perch clearancing
I want to cut the bump stop perch to allow a wider tyre to be fitted, and was wondering how much is safe to cut off before there is a risk that the bump stop doesn't work and slides off the perch?

Porsche Engine question
From what I understand, it isn't possible to fit a 911 6 cyl engine in a beetle because it's too long, and also of course a lot heavier.
Does anyone have any idea by how much they are too long...
