The timing belt covers on the 6cyl are the problem. It's a lot bigger at the back than the 4cyl engines, so you need to push it forward roughly 75-100mm to fit (a beetle) without extensive body...

If you're going to add coilovers in that manner, you still need to brace and support the shock towers. So, at that point...why carry all the weight of the Torsion bars (which are now doing nothing)...

Drop spindles and a lowered beam. I wouldn't think twice about taking it on _any_ paved road in the Pacific Northwest...and once Covid ends I'll be taking it on all the roads in in WA/OR for sure....

Rally bug has an aluminum plate above the floor, and three steel 'ribs' under the floor pan to stiffen everything up. basically sandwiching the floorpan. Very sturdy, no flexing.
