Matt,
Your remark finally made sense to me when I saw the Remmele rear coil-over set-up last weekend at Spa, where Remmele had a small stand.
The Remmele set-up has heim-joints at the lower end ! and I think it is because of the mis-alignment you have noticed! The heim-joints correct the mis-alignment and also correct any mis-alignment during the in-and-out movement of the trailing arms.
Man, his set-ups are well thought-out, but very expensive...
