What should I say?
Is it rubbish to say that? Did anybody test that or are that just rumours, spread by the faboulous internet to you?
No, it's not true. The sideload of an original rabbit alternator is very similar to the load of a pulley on a Type 4 engine. If you think of running a belt over the alt, waterpump and crank makes a rabbit alt running as hard. When do you change your bearings on your rabbit? Every 10kmiles? Examples: Ahnendorp produces the system for nearly 15 years, Knuf produces another bolt-on system for nearly 8 years, MSS runs their systems, sold through Custom & Speed Parts for nearly 5 years. There's even an exchange-kit, where you can build a rabbit alt into a Porsche ring, that is also available for a decade.
Is it possible, that they are all wrong and they produce all cheap crap?
