I tried using a 911 master cylinder and I had clearance issues. The steering arm would hit the M/C so I had to cut it apart and off-set it. Real pain in the but. I haven't driven my car with the 944 brakes yet but I didn't have a problem with the "feel" of the stock brakes. If the race GT3 has manual brakes then so shall my car.
