I've used the Porsche bearings with unmodified 87 944T hubs on dropped spindles. I found that you can get 2 different sizes of bearings to fit the Porsche hub, and chose the bigger bearings (much bigger than stock VW bearings), can't remember the part #'s though.
You'd need the bearings to determine the dimensions of the spacers, but give Lanner a shout at
