Will be fine Have colour sanded before, and have a proper random orbital doofer for the polishing
The carbon is going to get the same treatment, its going to be flat sanded with 1500 to knock the high spots off, and a second coat of lacquer, then same as the paint, 1500, 2000 then polish up
Should look superb!
