I polished a set of 6X15 Fuchs for a cal-look bug that I had a few years ago. I stripped the anodized finish with multiple applications with aircraft grade paint stripper. Once the finish was removed I polished the wheels by starting with 100 grit sandpaper on a pad sander and sanding rolls in a die grinder. The die grinder worked very well between the spokes.
After the 100 grit I moved to 150, 220, 360, 400, 600, 1200 and 2000 and then began polishing with different grades of polishing compound using different shapes of wool buffing wheels and bobs.

It took about 8 hours per wheel to finish the job, but it was well worth the time spent.
