Thanks for the reply Allan.
When I found out I had a loose intake seat on #3, I decided to take the bug off the road for this summer and rebuild the engine ... I was planning on doing this winter 2006-2007 anyways.
I totally dis-assembled the engine and found out during measuring, that the rod journals on the crank are really close to being worn and may need to be cut for next undersize. The main journals and the case mains are all within spec ... not sure why it is only the rod journals that are worn.
The rods need to be re-bushed as the piston pin falls through the small end of the rod under its own weight. I also want to have the big end cut for a dodge SRT-4 bearing instead of the T4 bearing as I want to run about 16-18 psi for the street next year. ARP BBC rod bolts will be fitted as well ... I want to make this rod bulletproof.
I will assemble the engine as I beleive I am capable of doing it, and there are no trick parts that I am using.
The heads will be sent off to HAM INC for new 42x38 valves and some "turbo tricks".
I'll be soloing with you Allan next year for sure ... let me know when your next outing is and I will try and join you.
