I don't think so. Reverse is in on the other side of the shifter between the two. The early 901 shifter base was different also. This is one reason I went with the 915 (besides strength). It has a more "standard" shift pattern...

901 shift pattern:
R-2-4
1-3-5

915 shift pattern:
1-3-5
2-4-R
