The diff I have fitted is the ATB torque biasing type that has no plates.I am not sure it will be as useful as a plate type diff when you lift off the gas but it does have other benefits.This is quite a complex subject with many pros and cons.

Hopefully though it will be a better car all round than just having the standard diff.
