Hey guys, thanks for the kudos, but I'll have to pass them on to Eric, I've got neither the time nor the skill to work this area right now, so I've farmed this out. It's back in my possesion now so I can work on non-structural things like moving the steering column and the pedals over about 5cm.
I'm worried it's a little too beefy, but I guess better stronger than not strong enough. This car will be seeing the race track regularily, so I want to feel comfortable about my chances of good health should a shunt occur.
Will, the strut top and the fender literally touch each other, that's another part I have to work on, I may have to grind on that mount just to clear the fender!!! It's a problem that is not really a problem for supers, but I'm the only guy I'm aware of that's attempted this union with a standard beetle so I have additional challenges to face.
