Never seen that exact one before, but I recognize the bolt spacing and the extra thickness layered on the bottom two holes: its probably mounted onto the original case holes where the original rear engine support bar is mounted.
Just above/besides the oil pump.
My set-up sat on an original converted 914 2.0 engine and had a piece of engine tin around the crank pulley, probably to resemble the type 1 surround tin around the pulley for engine bay air sealing.
So I strongly think it was meant to mount onto some extra tinware and seal the engine bay from hot air radiating from the exhaust.
