SOHC Air-cooled flat four

OK, I know it's not a new idea, but anyone else think in the modern age this could be done reasonably cost-wise? At least after the tooling is set up for the first few engines?

Just for reference, this would be an aluminum T1 style wet-sump engine for a street car with occasional track usage.

Also, I can't a afford $20K for a poloporus unit although it would be nice... http://www.polomotor.com/
