I just put 944 alloy arms on my Ghia pan and the one modification that has to be done is the replacement of the bushing that the attachment bolt feeds through. The VW bolt has a larger shaft than the 944 bushing which means you buy a polyurethane 3 piece bushing set and install it. Pretty painless to do. You just use a big screwdriver to pry off the metal 'caps' off the std 944 bushings and you'll see that it all comes apart nicely.
