I take the view that any information is good information and you can't have too much of it. It all comes down to what you need and what you do with it.

I agree though, they do have more engine monitoring systems. BUT they are designed systems. Hours of research goes into figuring out optimal operating conditions and calibration. Slapping on an autometer of vdo gives you something to look at, but what do you actually gain?
I run a tach and oil temp, I think that is on the threshold of too many...
