True.Low cost is probably the main reason though.They´re not quite as bullet proof as some think,though.The EJ25 engine has several issues is what the suby guys tell me.It seems the EJ20 is the best DOHC engine,the EJ22 the cheapest and best bang for the buck and can take 400hp with stock components,just with different pistons (so can the type 4 btw ) However,if you build a 400+hp turbo mill,then the costs are about the same as you would have with the type 4 turbo or a well built turbo type 1.Heat becomes an issue with the subaru aswell and of course the suby conversion will weigh a bit more also.Advantages of course are the availability of products off the shelf.There is a lot of crap out there also,just like in our industry.
