The key being road salt and damp conditions...in that case, I agree 100% the headlight washers are awesome. If you're driving the bug regularly during weather or road conditions like that, then yeah...a worthwhile upgrade.

If the car is a sunny day / summer vehicle then they are more likely to end up a frustration over a useful feature. It's that whole spraying down a clean car thing. I've had headlight washers on my Audi's for years and loved them in the winter, hated them in the summer. I drive with headlights on all the time, and inevitably end up spraying down a clean car in error.

But yes, it boils down to whether or not the car will be driven in roadsalt-like conditions. Mind you, I the TUV requirement is rather interesting as well.
