I wouldn't use them for the bumpers of course, but this is very interesting as my light-weight fiberglass fenders wouldn't even need the strong stainless bolts anyways. Alu ones like these would be quite enough and would save several kilos easily.

But Wally you're missing the point of these that I would have thought would have been considered first:
You can lock the bolts in position with lock wire..........
