Yes, obviously those parts don't fit straight away together. Unfortunately, coil-over sets for turbo Cup struts to a 1303 don't exist either, so you have to carefully and conciously let a proffesional weld and modify (the struts that is) everything so it does fit.
You also have to understand that the suspension modification was done more then 12 years ago, when these parts were still rather new and no-one ever knew what I was talking about...
The car has just passed its yearly inspection again with flying colours, so the inspectors always seem to approve from a safety point of view. Not that that is the measure for things, but it does give some confidence.
So, yes, it is all custom made. No bolt-on solutions with these parts, especially not in those days
