Hello, I help out at a local vw shop, and the guy I work for got his car on the cover of VW Trends for July 2004. Sorry it's not GL, but I thought I'd still post the info. (And brag a little while I'm at it
sorry). I helped restore the '52 Split, but the '55 was done when I started working there.
Also, we just finished a '51 Split Ragtop about a week ago. Sorry, still not GL. It has a big 2165 type 1, big stereo, Empi 5 spokes... I'll try to post the before and after pictures, if people are interested in seeing. I love it, but hey we've been building it for the past 6 or 7 months. I didn't know much when we did the '52 and there was 3 of us, but on the '51 I got a lot of "wrench time" in, So I can't help but love it.
