77 bus trans ?

i need to know if this will work . i have yhe 1.8ltr engine that was in my 72 bus [ mostly burned up in front & inside engine fine ] going in a 77 bus with no engine i bought . the question is will this 1.8 bolt up to the 77 tranny ? do i need to switch starters to do this ? thanks for the help ...........jeff

I have this information only second hand as I am not going that route. The engine should bolt up. They did use different starters on the big bus trans. The R&P ratios are different too. You could find more exact information on the shoptalk forums under offroading. They use the big trans alot on off road cars.

The engine should bolt up. That's a great trans. (091) 4.56 R&P and its bombproof. Hold on to that one. There's also alot of ratios available for it.
