Wheel hop control. Kafier/berg brace and Oil coolers... WTF?

Hi All,

So i've got a wheel hop problem and need to add some kind of traction device to combat it.

It seems that the 3 bar kafier brace system works very well and is popular, plus also allows conversion to coil over shocks at the same time. But if I install one i'll have to remove my 12" x 12" oil cooler that is mounted under the parcel shelf.

I'm pretty sure that a berg traction bar won't clear the turbo header, plus I don't like the idea of hanging the engine supports off the bumper mounts. Especially when my new 2332 turbo will turn close on 320hp.

This leaves only two options. Relocate the oil cooler to perhaps two front mounted ones and install a kafier brace, or maybe install a Thor brace instead, which will require I move my oil cooler, but at least it will fit!

Anyone have any suggestions or can offer advise on how they worked around this problem?

Cheers,

Ian

i would go with the cup brace and relocate the oil cooler. i had to do the same. i had a 96-plate. i ditched it and went with a Setrab and hung it just under the brace with drilled ali straps bolted to the package tray.
