I dont know about "light-weight" batteries...but knowing a couple of guys who race Porsche's around my area annually run with optima yellow tops.
These batteries are by far one of the best deep cycles out there. They are perfect for racing...thinking thats what your looking for?

I got a lawnmower battery.
Haven't put many miles on it, but it is very capable of starting and running my 2.5 liter Sube engine. Rob. |

got the Odyssey PC680 and mounting bracket. Its small. About 15lbs. Mounts flat against floorpan.
Need to decide if im going to mount it in the stock location or under the passenger seat. Im not running a back seat so if I put it under the driver or passenger seat it would be hidden from view. So I think I would put it there. |

Good prices at www.batterymart.com.
http://www.batterymart.com/battery.mv?p=ODY-PC680 -- 15 lb, 220 CCA I went with the medium sized unit -- 26 lb, 380 CCA -- http://www.batterymart.com/battery.mv?p=ODY-PC925MJT for a street application -- fits under rear seat no problem. |
