Steering play

I installed a new steering box on my '70 Type one (standard).

I have a adjustable front beam, caster shims and quick steering kit. The wheels are 15x7 with 205/15/50 tires.
The tierods are all new, alignment is done.

There's quite a bit of play in the steering, making the car feel 'nervous'.
Is it normal that you have to adjust a new steering box ?

Rob.

Not really sure if this is normal....it should be right once you buy a new box I guess. How much do you have to adjust?

Haven't adjusted it yet.
I'm thinking about going back to the shop who sold it to me and
have them take a look at it.

If everything goes well you can see it on Wednesday
