What header to get ?
So I decided to postpone my Sube conversion.
I simply do not have the cash for it right now. However, I would like to get a bit more power out of my 1600SP ![]() So I'm looking at getting a merged header, with a fat-boy style muffler. The CIP website lists quite a bunch, but they are pretty expensive. Any tips for a header/muffler combo on a budget ? I'm not too concerned about the quality, since it eventually will be replaced and I will not put a lot of miles on the car. Thanks, Rob. |

Rob,
Not sure if this will help but how about getting some used DP heads ? I've seen original used sets go for about $30 US on EBay for the pair. I'm sure that swapping heads would get you more power than a header. I think the SP heads are the limiting factor. Sandeep |

Get a regular 1 3/8" street header setup with a muffler of your choice. That should help out some. If you don't want heat, then get J-tubes also.

Hmmm, Sandeep, you are a bad influence.....
The exhaust ports on DP heads are the same as SP heads, right ? So I can get myself a header and swap heads later ? Rob. |

I beleive both types of heads use the same header ... plus you could sell your old SP heads for about $30 US on ebay and come out really spending nothing !
