Volvo brakes

I posted this in a previous thead, but thought it might get more hits if I give it its own subject title. Anyways...

In AUG 03 issue of HOTVWs, The Grey Ghost (72 1302) had 850 front brakes and 850 rear rotors with subaru impreza calipers. Does anyone have any info on this setup? I started looking around on the net and found that VENTED 850 rotors are CHEAP!!!! (compared to vented rotors from CSP-$130ish, US)

Bolt pattern is 5X108. Not as common as 5X100 or 4X100, but still plenty of wheels to select from.

example:

VENTED rotors range from $72, down to $53

Calipers can be had for around $55 each with a $45 core charge thats around $200 for a set

I dont know if all these prices are legit, but it gives a general idea of whats out there. I also dont know the exact years that would work either.

Here in a few months, this is going to be my experiment. I'm going to go to a pick-a-part and try and source some 850 hubs and see if they bolt onto a 71 super spindle, or if the whole assembley has to be mounted. I don't know whats gonna work, thats why I say, experiment, but it'll be fun, and i'll let you all know how it goes. Of course, like above, if anyone already has some general info, that would be great!
