Separated at Birth?

Anyone ever notice this weirdness?
Especially the tail light headlight weirdness?
Did Ford get a good deal with VW Mexico or what?
All kidding aside...it just struck me as odd.
They are just so similar! Anyone try to use any of these bits on a bug before?
Ford and Porsche were known to be friends after all!
Ya just never know..
