best bet would be to soak them in a petetrating fluid. but the hammer should work, you used two hammers right? one at the spindle and the other to tap the tie end?
other than that a tie rod puller, but the 2 jaw puller should have worked too... push comes to shove you can try to remove the spindle and then you can put the thing in a vise or something and go at it, with link pins you just have to remember how many shims and where they went.

thank you for the speedy post....I got one off....finally...I put a bottle jack under the tie end (on the thread side) and smashed the heck out of the arm that is on the spindel.....but I cant get either of the inner tie ends off for anything....I may have to break out the torch......if anyone else has an idea i am listening Tommorow I am going to do some more hammering and if I cant get them off I am going to just take off the arm off thr steering box and then replace all the tie rods themselves too....thank for your help rip....

well that's good, and I agree. if you still can't get the inner ones to move I'd try to get the assembly out, the pitman arm and everything.
if you do try and use the torch just be carful, not a lot of room down there, and the master cylinder down there too. I'd try to do without. good luck

I've always used a tie rod fork thingy. It comes apart easily, but destroys the rubber boot. I think its called a pickle fork.
