944T Brembos on early 944NA Rear Hubs?

I have bought some 84 944NA rear brakes for my IRS chassised 61 Karmann Cab beetle. They fit the IRS perfectly and just bolt on.

I also have some 944S2 (same as 944 Turbo) front 4 pot brembos for the front so I thought I would get some to match the rear so I have nice calipers all round. The calipers I have are from an 86 944 turbo with the same 94mm bolt spacing as the early sliding calipers

However when I did a trial fit I noticed that the calipers need to be centralised, and the only way they looked like they would go on would be to spot face the caliper or the hub carrier:-

This is a pic of the early hub, and where the caliper would need to be for it to be central on the disk.

Now can anyone give me any advice on whether 944T brembos can be put on a earlier 944NA rear hub carrier? If so what should I do. I feel a bit reluctant to start taking material off the caliper mounting faces!

Cheers
