suspension question

Howdy! after exchanging thoughts on another site I have a question about the rear use of coilovers in place of the torqsion bars - If you use a system of bars (like the set up on the opening page) is there a chance that the orginal towers will break off or the bolt hole go out of shape and split?
I reall think that the coilover would be very easy to tune compared to the bar system
thanks for your time

Aldan Eagle makes a small bodied double adjustable shock.
They need to be 10" compressed, 15" extended.

Use spring plates from eagle, MBT, or Remmele. Make sure they have a heim joint if you go with some one else.

Do not use stock spring plates! The flex induced when using bushings when cornering causes unstability and Toe in and Toe out. NOT SAFE. The stock spring plates were not intended to handle that kind of lateral pressure.

The double adjustables are $530 a pair with springs. Single adjustables are $399.

If you have a stock tranny, AC style motor I would get a 275 lbs. linear spring.

5 speed and water cooled motor 325 lbs. springs.

I'm using the multi-link suspension from a 993 with a 6 speed g50, and a 2.2 liter turbo ecotec with 550 hp so i'm gonna have to do some testing with spring rates.

Good luck
