Budget CB Hideaway turbo system ?

ok....im not a newbie to forced induction, but i've never really paid any attention to it with regards to Aircooled VWs.

so lets see...i have a healthy 1600cc engine, im in the process of finding some dual webers and i can easily get a CT9 turbo for nothing (CT9 is the turbo that came on Toyota Turbo Starlets[a small 1300cc 2 door hatchback popular in Jamaica])

so basically, after doing a lot of research and seeing the success stories of those who have gone the forced-induction route, not to mention the potential economic benefit of it all, im wondering if piecing together components from CB (coming up to a little over $500, right up my street) to make up the complete system would be worth it in the short/long run....any thoughts?

-sedan turbo header
-sedan pressure duct kit
-exhaust gaskets
-turbo exhaust pipe w/ muffler
-inlet air filters
-pressure covers
i think that'd be all i'd need...am i missing anything?

why not try and go fuel injection. Their is a guy out by Spanish Town by the name of Kevin Pitt that made a fuel injection throttle body from an old 40mm weber carb it worked well. Their is something you can look into that's the turbo starlet computer, my friend wanted to use one as it is simple but a very effective system. The ct9 turbo would be a wonderful turbo to use on a stock 1600 engine.

i've always thought that FI would drive the cost through the roof....or is there a cheap yet respectable way of pulling it off?

after doing more research on it... i have options.
cost is still a factor as im doing a bunch of other stuff to my bug as well...
only this time, i've scrapped the Turbo T1 idea, i've decided to do things right from the start and go for a 2.0T4 with cali conversion....then turbo it.

im either planning to get some Dellorto/Weber 40's or to go FI...which i think i'd prefer in terms of drivability/fuel economy

my options are, for FI.

CIS pulled off an old rabbit or volvo 240T

or using the same turbo starlet system as you mentioned. wouldnt it need to be reprogrammed tho?

looking for some more insight into the turbo starlet method.
