Welcome bucket, I too have a 72 Super. I used the TopLine MaxStrut but it sounds like that is just out of your budget. What size wheel are you planning on running? What fenders? I whanted to keep German sheet metal on my car and run a wider Porsche wheel so after all my figuring I had to run the MaxStrut to clear my tires. You can run the Adjust-A-Strut and TopLines tappered Sport spring and gain some room for wider wheels. Give John a call at TopLine, he is always helpfull. I have seen some folks build(mod.) their own struts but I can't give any advice on that.
Good luck.
