Hello All,
I would like to find a rear apron for a 74-79 FI Super. Please let me know if you have one. Thanks |

Technically, FI started in the 1975 model year. More importantly, do you want an American one or a European one? The American one had one outlet while the European ones had two. The American exhaust was different in that it had the catalytic converter.
I lucked into finding a European one that was already stateside a few years ago. They come up on the Samba every once in a while.

Hi
I've bought two aprons for different cars in the past, each had the outlet on different sides. Steve

WHS^ Earlier FI have the outlet on the right, while later mexi's have it on the left.
You'll be after one with the outlet on the right for that range, the other side outlet are available from CIP. Getting one of those and swapping it over might be the only option. Just had someone go into the back of my 77 FI and am hopign that the panel is going to be savable, otherwise it might get very expensive as these ones are hard to get hold of... **EDIT** Found one... http://shop.volkswarenhaus.de/produc...fer-ab-93.html You won't like the price or shipping though Last edited by al_kaholik; February 24th 2010 at 10:17. Rear Apron
Hello All,
Thanks for the great replies. I am not that fussy about what type I get, I have interference problems with my A1 exhaust on my 69 and I will probably modify the apron anyway. Thanks for the tip about CIP. I called them and they have the one with the single outlet on the left. I will probably buy that one. Thanks! |

True, but the Mexican ones were after 1979 when they started making FI models.
