944 rear arms
I know you get a lot of these but I am trying to make sure that I have the right stuff. I started to collect parts for a 994 brake conversion before college and had to put off working on my beetle to finish. I have a set of aluminum arms, spring plates and torsion bars that I believe are 86.5 NA.
Part #'s 951.331.513.0 (left) and 951.331.514.0 (right) I have been looking to see if these are good arms to use as I cannot find them listed in the 944 part # article and searching I have not found evidence of anyone using them either |

Don't know if this helps but here are the pages from the IPB's for the 85 and 88. As far as what generation your arms fall into someone else might help. Learning all this myself on a Mendeola, 944T setup. Sounds like you have the 944T (951) arms?

I think I have the odd middle year NA set up because I have aluminum arm, single piston calipers on the rear, (turbo should be a multi-piston setup right?) and a weird part number

They don't have all the models, but it helps identifying parts by eliminating what it isn't...if that makes any sense.

The aluminum arms are all the same barring some cosmetic differences (bump stop location). It's tough relying on the part number because the difference in track width is in the hub, and they can be interchanged between the late alum arms and the early. Visually, the late hubs have much higher offset (stick wheel out more) and has three prongs around the center nut that is machined down in diameter to match the hubcentric wheel.
NA or Turbo caliper work on either arms with the correct rotor: a) Low offset arms (86 style hub) - Use 86 944T rotor and caliper, or 86 944NA rotor and caliper b)High offset arms (87+ style hub) - Use 87 944T rotor and caliper, or 87NA rotor and caliper. Cheers, Lanner |

Just an FYI I have a line on 4-5 complete rear-ends (85-89T) available in the US if anyone is looking for these parts. From torsion tube to the Hubs. As well as a good spot for the random missing bits including the really hard to find and expensive bolts. They also have rear sway bars and a pile of other 944T related parts. Reach out if you need anything as they don't know if they want to go public or not. I am trying to find some business to send there way to help encourage them to become a bit more active in the scene to help other folks looking for this stuff....
