Digital Cameras
Since technology advances so fast, I thought it was time to discuss digital cameras again. What make/model does eveyone use? Do you recommend dedicated video and still cameras (separate) or multifunction? I plan to document modifications, assembly, and repairs in both formats. For this, zoom is still an issue if I want good closeups of my work.

From what I've seen, the still capabilities of the multifunction cameras aren't high enough for high quality images.
Currently I use a Nikon coolpix 5000 for my studio work, 5 mgpxl camera. Has an excellent user interface/programable modes. I'm in the process of upgrading further to a D100, so the 5000 is for sale ($600 with accesories) along with a mint in the box Nikon FA film camera ($350).
