Help me with this oil leak please!

It never rains but it pours......

My engines pissing oil!!

It was fine until today - oiltight!, went for a 60+ mile drive got where I was going only to find the back end of the bug covered in oil film.

It's dripping oil and 'marking its territory' everywhere now,

I 'think' I've located where it's coming from,

below the pully and above the oil pump, between the case halves possibly.

I've tried nipping up the nuts.... nice and tight ......... to no avail it still leaks.

Could it be anything else? Can anyone shed any light? Why has it JUST started leaking now??

What can I do, save dropping the motor, splitting the case and re-sealing it?

Plus.............I have two days to sort this out!

ANY HELP ADVICE WOULD BE APPREICIATED!!!!!

I've pulled the lower tinwear off, cleaned everything up and run the engine up, result.........

...the motor is leaking from behind the crank pully, quite a dribble even when the pully is done up real tight.

Next question is how do I sort this? Would a 'Sand-seal' help? How come it's happened in the first place?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

has the motor been rebuilt? what size is it? have you noticed the pulley bieng loose before? it could be pressure, or you could have eaten the oil slinger. i've eaten 2 from running the pulley loose.

What he said.
Also. Do you have a breather setup(not just the alt/gen stand) on the engine to vent case pressure?
