Body Swap..¿

Hey Guys

Ok I have some nasty rust in my passanger Kick,Heater Chanel & Under rear window (Lil Hole)

Question :
Would it be werth it to get a Solid Body Have it painted & Swap them out?
What Bodys fit on 65 Pans?
Or Should I just Go IRS?

Any body will do except a super. The repairs should run you ~$1500 to have done (plus repainting). If you can find a good body for that price, I'd go for it. Body work is my least favorite subject. Most of the time you will come out cheaper with buying a good shell. However, the heater channels are part of the pan, not the body. If the rust is there, you'll have to swap pans or repair it. That is the most expensive/difficult part of the job.

Heater channels are part of the body....attaching to the pillars....

Either way...I need new ones....

Troy, if you are thinking of replacing the body and the pan you should just buy a different beetle and switch all the stuff you have on it. Then get teh one you have now roadworthy and sell it. there are plenty of cars available in the PHX area for pretty cheap, and I think it would be your best (and cheapest) option.

yeah prolly endup doing a IRS project ..
drive the 65 till its almost ready then sell the 65 to help on the IRS project..
Just starting the Layout of the project.. Im guessing 1-2 years after I start
till i hit the raod ..
Over view:
IRS (68-69)
Full Cage, Coil Overs, Custom Fuel setup,
Solo race seat¿, T4 Motor?,5 Speed?
(4)944 dics,18" BBS?
Carbon toys,Berg or CSP shifter
4" Stack Display tach,Speedo,Temp (All'n one)
lexan windows w/air scoops?
*Dbl Wish Front* (When for sale)
Over Hung Pedal Set Custom Gas pedal..
