hi-torque starter
hi,
my 911 starter is getting weak, I'm looking forward to replace it by a Hi-torque, but would that fit on a 901/02 porsche gear box and with a 215mm flyingwheel type4 without any problems?? thanks for help david

Can't help if it would fit your installation but I wouldn't buy another Hi-Torque.
I've had 2 fail on me, it wears a step in it's throw out shaft which then caused the shaft to come out at an angle. As this happend twice it's obviously a design fault. I have tried to contact hi-torque for replacement shafts and they don't answer emails, I've not had chance to get the timing right for an international call. For my IRS box and big type 1 engine I have gone back to a 70amp battery and standard starter and it starts faster and stronger than before. Plus they are over half the price. |

Hi
If one will fit why not try a VW auto starter, they are slightly higher hp than a manual one. Steve
