Cooling Question
What do you guys think will cool and big power plant better; stock shroud, porsche shroud, or that new system (I think it's called DTM?).

From what I have seen the DTM seems to cool the best out of all the systems available. I am probably going to use a DTM on my 2276 T1 but when I do another T4 Im probably gonna use a 911 setup because it looks good and fits the german look well and should cool my motor adequately because it will not be as radical as my 2276.

DTM all the way.
I currently have porsche cooling, but will be switching to a DTM for my next engine build. The porsche shroud is great for looks, but doesnt cool evenly, needs an external oil cooler, tinware has to be made to fit, is overpriced etc etc. Top kit of the DTM gives you everything you need to bolt in and go ![]() Cya, Sam C

i am one of the few that has run both and in my case they were on the same exact engine. flat out, the DTM cooled MUCH better on my engine. with the 911 is was running 325-350 with a 50 degree swing between heads at times.
i just put a few miles on my DTMed engine. ran 90mph up a 30 degree hill that is about 3/4 mile long and the heads were dead even at 260 when we hit the top. just stating facts. i love the look of the 911 shroud, but the cooler the heads, the more HP you get. |
