Vert motor
Trying to plan the motor for the 71 gl vert. Not sure if I should go t4 or t1. I have parts to build a 2.0 t4, minus carbs cooling and exhaust. Head rebuilds also cost another $500. So I'm looking at atleast another 2k in a t4 motor.
Or for 2k I can build a pretty respectable t1 motor. Got a 911 fan and alt sitting on the bench with nothing to do. What would you guys do?

right now, don't have a shroud, just have the ring and alt. I just like the look of the 911 fan on any engine.
Thinking about a sharpbuilt shroud. Got body work to deal with first though.

T1, cheaper and good HP per $ spent.
Depends on how many miles you want to get out of it as well.

yea, but if you already have all the parts for a T4 2.0 rebuild you are more then halfway there.

Wow, this is tough. I'm leaning toward the 1776 t1 with dual carbs. I'm just looking for a nice family crusier to take to shows and the local drive in.
Wonder if Webcam would trade me the t4 cam and lifters I have for a set for t1? Could probably sell off most of the t4 stuff and pay for the t1.
