Hi
I think you mean to move it closer at the pivot point on the throttle body end, also offset it so that you get slower travel at 1st and faster travel on the last bit of throttle, lots of factory throttle bodies are set up this way. Look at a stock carb and see where cable hooks up and note how off centre it is from the throttle shaft. Steve
