stiff rear suspension

As I bolted the 944 T suspension to my 1979 1303 "vert" I saw that the rear suspension is very "stiff". The original torsion bar are jused with a urethane bushing on the inside and the original 944 Porsche bushings on the swing plate. I also jused the 944 torsion housing. Could it be that this housing has to be bolted with spacers between the chassis and housing? Anybothy something to say about this problem?
