flywheel re-surface, stock rod recondition?

I am thinking about having Rimco resurface my stock flywheel and perhaps have myself do my own drilling for eight dowel pins (with jig sold in parts sources) is there anything wrong with having the stock flywheel re surfaced? and is doing my own dowel pin upgrade risky? ( i have a drill press)

Also, i wanted to try and save some money and have Rimco rebuild my stock con-rods... they charge around 40 bucks, but im not sure on what they do to them, any one know? (they are closed tonight, cant call) anyways, this all all part of my 1915cc build up.

any opinions welcome...

Thanks
Jonathan
