What 'screamed out to me' was the fact that you don't have your used type 1 case align bored because 'it looks good'.
I don't want to underestimate your skills of course, but I suggest you let an experienced engine builder have a look at your case since it turns out that almost 100% of all 30+ years old type 1 cases are better of with an align bore.
