i don't know of anyone off the top of my head that stuck with the stock when going to 4-pots. do a search in the brake forum on here. there is quite a bit of info already out there with the comparisons. it is little effort to convert to a 944 m/c and worth it from a safety aspect. it was designed to handle the larger displacement.

Well, that would be me..
I use the stock m/c and I have the even larger 4 pot Turbo Cup 944 brakes.
Thought that would only be one way to find out
The pedal travel is just fine, like stock. You didn't expect that one huh? Few people have actually tried this and then most people speculate and think of theories why it might not work and then if a lot of people do that, the theory almost becomes 'a known fact'

Fact is that the my front brakes now overbrake, which is not that strange.
Stranger is that people acually use the 944 m/c the way porsche mounted the brake lines in the front engined 944 the larger diameter side (21mm) to the front and the smaller diameter (19mm, also stock beatle) to the rear...That would worsen the situation IMO.
So, I still have to find the right m/c myself, but it might be a solution the reverse mount an 944 m/c or an old Audi one, as they seem to be the same (step cylinder 21/19mm) sort of...

Just my opinion on the matter

Hi

Im using a stock 19mm with mine as well, you wouldnt know I didnt have stock brakes by the pedal feel, the only thing I find is if im sitting at a stop light on hill the car roll a bit if im not concentrating. I tried a larger MC and the pedal was to hard.

master cylinders

what therefore would you recommend i use
in a split single cab with all round black 944 brembo twinpots?
